Episode #44: Arc and Arceus!

    As they continued on to the Sinjoh Ruins in the snowy middle of nowhere, the gang wondered what to expect when they reached this mysterious place. What exactly did Cynthia have to do with this mysterious Unknown Pokémon and what made her so interested in going?

    “Hey, Cynthia?” Flow asked. “Just why are you going there, anyway?”

    “Because I love Sinnoh's Legendary Pokémon,” Cynthia explained.

    “Sinnoh...that's up north, right?”

    “Of course. Where are you two, from?”

    “I'm from New Bark Town.”

    “And I'm from Cinnabar Town,” Tobias said. “Well, before the island it was on was destroyed.”

    “Kanto and Johto, I see,” Cynthia replied. “I was born in Celestic Town in Sinnoh, where many legends are created surrounding these magnificent Pokémon. I have so much to learn that I don't already know. I'm just fascinated by them.”

    “Is Arceus special or something?” Tobias asked.

    “Arceus in particular...is the creator of everything you see around you.”

    They were both surprised by that comment. He was important to other Pokémon, of course, they knew that. They had no idea, though, that he was the ultimate creator of all existence.

    “Arceus came first,” Cynthia began, “and created our universe. He then created Dialga and Palkia, to create time and space. He then created Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf, creating the basis of life, representing Knowledge, Emotion and Willpower, respectively. Then all the other Pokémon came, and of course, us humans. It's under Arceus' belief that we must be together. If one were to fade, the other would fall as well.”

    They both wondered if it was really possible for that to be true, that if one species fell, then the other would fall as well. They couldn't wait to see this marvelous Pokémon. They soon saw a small chamber ahead of them with small inserts within them.

    “There it is,” Cynthia said.

    They headed to the chamber and went to the entrance. As they looked down, they see that it was much more beautiful inside. They went down, seeing murals and stained glass artwork on the walls, each depicting a various legend of Arceus and his creations.

    “This is incredible!” Flow said in awe.

    The two Pichu were amazed as well. They had never seen anything like it. They noticed an odd area below with some strange, triangular markings.

    “What's that?” Flow asked.

    “That's what Arceus comes here to take care of. It's known as the Mystri Stage.”

    “Mystri Stage?” Tobias asked.

    They went further to examine the three areas, each for the Legendary Pokémon Arceus created.

    “Wait, if he created Dialga and Palkia, why are there three?” Tobias asked.

    “Because there's a third, by the name of Giratina. While Dialga is the embodiment of time, and Palkia is the embodiment of space, Giratina is the embodiment of antimatter. I don't know too much about him, though.”

    They suddenly heard an unusual sound as they wondered what that could be.

    “He's coming,” Cynthia said.

    Soon a light shined down on the Mystri Stage as they saw a mysterious light. They wondered who that could be. Then, he came; Arceus floated down onto the stage. The sight of them amazed Flow and Tobias greatly. He landed of the stage as he saw the three below. The two Pichu were on the ground, bowing to them.

    “What are they doing?” Flow asked.

    “Being the creator of all Pokémon, and a Pokémon himself, he appears as a God to them. Therefore all Pokémon visible to his eye must bow to him, or face dire consequences.”

Flow and Tobias gulped nervously and wondered if they should bow themselves.

    “Who are you humans?” Arceus asked.

    “My name is Cynthia,” Cynthia said, stepping forward to explain. “I am here on behalf of my grandmother, a researcher in terms of Legendary Pokémon such as yourself. I have a favor to ask of you.”

    Cynthia lifted Spiky up and showed her to him.

    “This Pichu is not from our time,” Cynthia said. “She has hitched a ride with Celebi, and is forced to be here. She has no desire to return to her time period, as she has been mistreated, and hated by her owner. I request that you allow her to stay within this time period.”

    “Is she a wild Pokémon?” Arceus asked.

    “She's mine, sir...” Flow said, not sure how to address it.

    Arceus looked at her, who felt really nervous about this. He suddenly saw Celebi pop in, unaware of his presence.

    “Sorry, I'm late,” Celebi said. “I had a bit of trou---”

    She saw Arceus and stopped what she was doing. She landed onto the ground and bowed to him.

    “Forgive me, Lord Arceus,” Celebi said. “I hadn't expected you to be here so early.”

    “It is all right,” Arceus replied. “Lady Celebi. Are you with them?”

    “Yes. I am here on behalf of Spiky, the young Pichu before you. Please, grant her desires.”

    Arceus looked at Spiky, wondering what to do with her. He closed his green eyes and unleashed a strange energy upon Spiky, who felt an odd shift in her force. Flow wondered if her desire was being granted. The power soon stopped as she was dazed for only a few seconds before waking up. She looked at Arceus, wondering if this was her new power.

    “I can sense a very strong bond between you and your trainer,” Arceus said. “I wish for that bond to continue.”

    Flow cheered as she went over to Spiky. She jumped onto his shoulder and smiled happily at him.

    “Take care,” Arceus said. “Now, my ritual must continue.”

    Suddenly numerous nets surroundeded Arceus and trapped him. They all wondered what was going on as they saw Terry and Matt attempting to capture Arceus.

    “What's going on here?!” Cynthia asked.

    “We want this Pokémon for our master, so back off!” Matt snapped.

    “Who's this master you're talking about?” Flow asked.

    “That would be me,” a mysterious, yet familiar voice said.

    They looked back and saw Arc entering the ruins. Flow became extremely nervous about what he planned to do to them.

    “Who are you?” Cynthia asked.

    “My name is Liam Park, otherwise known as Arc. I'm here for Arceus.”

    “You're too late. He's already granted his power to Spiky here.”

    Arc wasn’t too bothered by that. In the midst of this, Arceus broke free and prepared a Judgement attack on those around him.

    “Yes,” Arc said. “YES!!! Let’s see that magnificent power!”

    Arceus fired a Judgment attack that struck Matt and Terry and destroyed them both. Their bodies were completely disintegrated, gone from existence.

    “Yes!” Arc said. “This is the power I’ve been waiting for!”

    “Foolish human,” Arceus said. “You think I’ll allow you to live? I will dispose of you so that peace can finally exist!”

    “Arc,” Flow said. “Arceus only wants happiness amongst humans and Pokémon! If you let him do what he wants, we can finally be at peace! Isn’t that what you’ve wanted? Peace in this world? Well, Arceus will finally do that!”

    Arc was silent. He looked at him and wondered what to make of this.

    “Even with his meddling, humans are a stain amongst the world’s blueprints. They must be destroyed.”

    Everyone was in awe at his decision. He hated humans that much, that even being forced to be happy and kind to one another, he would rather be evil than to see this world at peace.

    “You confuse me, human,” Arceus said. “If that is how you feel, then so be it.”

    Arceus prepared a Judgment attack and fired it at Arc. He failed to move. Suddenly a shield formed around Arc as he blocked the attack. Arceus was in shock.

    “I finally learned it,” Arc said. “A way to block your pitiful attack.”

    “Impossible!” Arceus said in disbelief.

    “Unfortunately, that’s the only time I’ll ever block that. Zorua!”

    Zorua came out and turned into a Ninjask. He floated around and zipped like lightning. Even though he could mimic traits, he couldn’t bear their attacks. Arc didn’t need it though.

    “Arc!” Flow said in anger. “What do you think you’re doing?”

    “Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to capture him.”

    They were all struck with disbelief. Was he really considering that, they thought. For them, that was suicide.

    “He can’t be serious!” Cynthia said.

    “Zorua, use Night Daze!” Arc ordered.

    Zorua zipped around and struck Arceus with a Night Daze attack. It failed to do anything, not even a flinch.

    “You dare attack me?” Arceus asked. “This will be your last mistake of your existence!”

    Arceus fired a Hyper Beam, which Zorua avoided with ease. Zorua kept firing Night Daze one at a time, zipping side to side.

    “Useless!” Arceus said.

    He fired a Hyper Beam, but nothing would hit.

    “Foul Play!” Arc ordered.

    Zorua managed to strike Arceus with a Foul Play attack, this time, dealing a lot of damage. Arceus fired a Judgement attack that shot towards Zorua. He avoided each of them.

    “Imprison!” Arc ordered.

    Zorua used an Imprison attack to keep Arceus in place.

    “Release me, right now!” Arceus ordered.

    Arc walked over with a Master Ball in hand and prepared to make his move.

    “Garchomp!” Cynthia said. Cynthia sent her Garchomp out to battle Arc. “You think we’re just going to stand here and let you take Arceus?”

    “No,” Arc said. “Zorua, Imprison!”

    Zorua floated by and used Imprison on everyone. They were all incapable of moving, or even acting.

    “Leave him alone!” Cynthia said.

    “This is the perfect opportunity!” Arc said. “Go, Master Ball!”

    The Master Ball hit Arceus and dragged him in. Try as he might, he was simply incapable of escaping. The ball sucked him in and fell to the ground. The ball wiggled a few times and confirmed the capture. Everyone was in awe. Arc went over to pick up the Master Ball and began to chuckle. That chuckle turned into a heavy laughter.

    “SUCCESS!!!” Arc cheered. “I AM THE FIRST MORTAL BEING TO CAPTURE A GOD! You must be so impressed by now.”

    They couldn’t talk due to Imprison. Zorua came by and turned back to his original form. Arc and Zorua teleported away, without Claydol’s help and the gang was released.

    “Can someone tell me what happened just now?!” Flow asked. “Did he seriously capture the creator of everything?!”

    Cynthia hated herself now. She was unable to do anything. The Imprison attack was far stronger than she had imagined. She failed on a massive level.

    “I lost,” Cynthia said.

    “No,” Tobias said. “We can stop him!”

    Cynthia couldn’t lose hope at all. She stood up and looked back at the gang.

    “Flow,” Cynthia said. “Arc captured Arceus, but I can tell that his plan will take time. Finish what you need to do and head to Unova. We’ll stop him there.”

    “Right,” Flow replied.

    “Celebi, find a worthy trainer to stop Arc’s plans. He must be willing to help our world.”

    “Got it!” Celebi replied.

    “We cannot fail again. We must stop him at all costs!”

    They all nodded as they prepared their journey. Flow had to finish up things in Johto, but he had enough time. After all, Arc wasn’t finished with his plans, whatever they were. Flow and Tobias decided to head to Violet City, hoping to make it to New Bark Town sometime within the next few days, providing that something didn't distract them.
