Episode #48: The End of Team Rocket!

Silver had finally found his father within Tohjo Falls, hiding for over six years. He wasn’t too pleased to discover that he never saw the light and seriously wanted Team Rocket back. The two fought, but with Meganium knocked out, He had no hope of winning. Silver knew that he would never get through to him, not now and not ever. He just sighed as he called Meganium back to her Poké Ball.

“I'm not going to give up, father!” Silver said.

“You might as well because this attack will kill you! Nidoking, Horn Drill!”

Nidoking spun his horn as he charged towards Silver, who had little options left on him.

    Father...why?

“Shadow Ball!” a mysterious voice ordered.

Suddenly a Shadow Ball came flying to Nidoking and struck him on the side of the head, knocking him down, but not out.

    “What was that?” Giovanni asked.

Silver looked to his right and realized who shot that Shadow Ball. Silver was surprised to see him here at all, despite his warning.

    “You...” Silver said.

“I've been looking forward to meeting you...Giovanni,” Flow said.

It was Flow, Spiky, and Furret, as well as Tobias and Kevin. They decided to help Silver despite his comment. He wasn't going to allow a chance like this to pass up. Not at all. Silver hadn't anticipated Flow actually coming to help at all. Though, if he hadn't shown up, Silver would have died. Silver ended up smiling in response.

"Thanks, pal," Silver said. "I owe you one."

"Regardless of what you said to me earlier, It's been my dream to beat that smug Giovanni after what his 'family' did to Nami!"

Giovanni wondered why he came here at all when he wasn't even involved in Nami's death.

"I don't even know who this Nami girl is," Giovanni replied, "but I couldn't bother with something as trivial as that."

"You little..." Flow said in anger.

"Don't waste your breath, Flow," Silver said. "No amount of reasoning can stop him. Believe me, I tried."

"He's seriously dead set on reviving Team Rocket, huh?"

    "Unfortunately, yes."

Giovanni smiled, since he was finally meeting Flow for the first time. This man was supposedly friends with the famous Dash Ryuujin, the same kid who took down Team Rocket when he was in charge at the time.

"Listen, both of you," Giovanni said. "I will not lose sight of my dream! I will return Team Rocket to their former glory, and this time, I will not fail!"

"Not while I'm here!" Flow replied. "you may not have much to do with Nami, but I have no respect for Team Rocket!"

Silver took out his Poké Ball and prepared for battle, while Giovanni was well prepared.

    "Go, Xatu!" Silver said.

Silver sent his Xatu out, hoping it’s Psychic attacks would be able to take down the Poison Type Nidoking.

"That won't stop me!" Giovanni said. "Nidoking, use Earth Power!”

Nidoking stomped the ground and created tremors, but Xatu flew up and took Furret with it. Furret looked up at Xatu and thanked him happily.

    “Thanks, Silver,” Flow said.

    “Always a pleasure!” Silver said.

    “Furret, Shadow Ball!”

    “Xatu, Psybeam!”

Both Pokémon fired their attacks at they both struck Nidoking. Giovanni ended up calling him back, leaving him to send out his next Pokémon.

“If it's an aerial fight you want, it's an aerial fight you'll get!” Giovanni said. “Go, Honchkrow!”

He sent his Honchkrow out as the two became a little nervous. Not only did Xatu's Psychic attacks have no effect on a Dark Pokémon like Honchkrow, but he was stronger than both of them.

    "Now what?" Flow asked.

"Xatu's attacks may be ineffective," Silver said, "but he can still take him on."

    "I hope you're right."

Silver and Flow wondered what kind of power Honchkrow had. Flow knew next to nothing about it and neither did Silver. They both hoped that he could take them on.

    "Use Dark Pulse!" Giovanni ordered.

    "Shadow Ball!" Flow ordered.

Furret fired a Shadow Ball that collided with Honchkrow's Dark Pulse, but Honchkrow's attack went through it and struck Furret and Xatu, knocking them to the ground.

    "Use Dark Pulse!" Giovanni ordered.

Hochkrow fired a Dark Pulse attack, striking both of them as they fell to their trainer's feet, unable to battle.

"This is nuts!" Flow said. "How was Dash able to beat him in battle?"

"He didn't,” Silver replied. “Their match never really finished.”

    "You're kidding?!"

"I wish I was. In all honesty, he has never lost a single battle. He's the strongest of all the old Kanto Gym Leaders."

Flow was surprised to hear that. He wondered if he could really beat him after hearing that. They both knew now that they were in over their heads with this.

“Now what?” Giovanni asked. “Don't tell me you were this pathetic the entire time? Wasting your life on tedious projects!”

“I'm not done with you yet!” Silver said.

Silver and Flow called back their respective Pokémon as they prepared to battle with new Pokémon.

    “Go, Yanmega!” Silver said.

Silver sent out his Yanmega, which Flow had actually never seen before. He took his Pokédex out to see for himself.

“YANMEGA: THE OGRE DARNER POKÉMON; THE EVOLVED FORM OF YANMA WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF ANCIENTPOWER. IT'S WINGS ARE BEYOND DEVASTATING, HAVING THE STRENGTH TO CAUSE INTERNAL DAMAGE AND DISLODGE TREES WITH A SINGLE FLUTTER.”

    “Yanmega, use SonicBoom!” Silver ordered.

Yanmega fired a SonicBoom attack and struck Honchkrow hard. Honchkrow tried to recover, but Yanmega got in front of it lightning-quick.

    “So fast!” Giovanni said.

    “Use Bug Buzz!” Silver ordered.

Yanmega unleashed a powerful Bug Buzz attack, creating a strong Vibration powerful enough to deal a lot of damage to Honchkrow.

“Now, end this!” Silver shouted. “Bug Bite!”

Yanmega charged in with a Bug Bite attack and sunk its fangs into Honchkrow's neck, dealing a lot of damage to it. Honchkrow fell to the ground, unable to battle.

“Now then,” Silver began. “Who was wasting his life on tedious projects?”

Giovanni growled in anger. Nothing he had could affect Yanmega. He was always been bad with Flying Pokémon, but he could still take him on. Yanmega, though, was a different scenario. It was way too fast for him.

“Boss!” Archer said, arriving with Proton.

The two saw Giovanni, in a state of shock, not only because they saw him lose to bunch of kids, but he found his old team members from many years ago.

    “Archer?” Giovanni said. “Proton?”

    “Boss!” Proton said. “What happened?”

“Get this kid!” Giovanni said. “He defies us and will not stop until I surrender!”

Archer and Proton took out their Poké Balls as they prepared for battle.

“Hah, you're going to regret battling us!” Proton said.

“We're pretty good, I'll have you know!” Archer said.

Suddenly, the two were stricken in the back of the head by a powerful chop. The two fell to the ground, unconscious. The two looked at the hero to see that it was actually Nami, Flow's old friend.

    “Nami!” Flow said.

“Hold on, I thought she was incapacitated?” Silver asked.

Flow realized that Silver never really saw Nami back to normal before. She smiled at Flow in response to her actions.

“Hey, you're not the only one who wants revenge,” she replied.

    “Got that right!” Flow replied.

Giovanni was now the one who was in over his head. He was up against three strong trainers and with little on him. They soon heard troops of police officers coming in through the tunnels to arrest Giovanni.

“It's over,” Flow said. “Your time is up.”

The police finally arrived to arrest him as they lifted him up to place handcuffs on his arms behind his back.

“It's time you came with us, Giovanni!” one of the officers said.

Silver seemed to have a face of worry on him, something Flow noticed, despite the sunglasses over his eyes.

    “What's up?” Flow asked.

Silver snapped out of it and looked at Flow.

    “It's nothing,” Silver replied.

Flow wondered if he was becoming soft on him at all. Seemed kind of ironic, since he wanted him dead. They were all escorted safely outside of Tohjo Falls, leaving them to do some police work. What would become of Giovanni was unknown.

***

Outside of Tohjo Falls, the gang wondered if Team Rocket was really gone for good this time. Silver was still wondering about Giovanni, though. Flow and Tobias were talking to Nami while Silver was just by himself alone, looking at the police car driving off.

    “Silver, what's up?” Flow asked.

“I wish he saw the ways of his error,” Silver said. “I couldn't believe that he's still set on reviving Team Rocket.”

“Hey, don't worry about it. I'm sure he'll see the light some day.”

“You're awfully kind, even though you hate him.”

    “You thought the same thing.”

Silver nodded. “I thought the same thing too. Guess we were both wrong then.”

“So where are you off to?” Silver asked.

“Mt. Silver to battle Dash Ryuujin,” Flow replied.

“Dash Ryuujin, huh?” Silver said, smiling. “This I gotta see!”

“I want to watch as well!” Nami said as well.

Flow felt a little nervous about them watching him. Soon, he realized something.

“Sounds fine,” Flow said. “I'll prove to you how far I've come since last time!”

“I'll be sure to witness it,” Nami said.

    “Mocking me I see?”

    Nami simply smiled.

“I mean it. It's been a long time since I've seen a real battle from you. This is really going to be an awesome battle.”

Flow smiled, realizing that they were all serious to see him win. He was happy to see them this way, especially Nami.

“Though, from what I heard from Jason, you lost humiliatingly, so seeing you lose will be joyful,” Nami said.

“So you ARE mocking me,” Flow thought. “Nami's still her usual self, I see.

“But still, I've also heard that you beat Keiji.”

Flow felt a little honored. The way she said it, she was serious about enjoying that feat.

“Yeah, if you can beat Keiji, you're strong enough to beat Dash!” Silver said.

“Yeah,” Flow said. “I guess you have a point there.”

“Don't worry!” Tobias said. “I'm sure you'll win!”

    “Pichu!” Kevin replied.

“Thanks, Tobias. Well, shall we be off?”

The gang nodded as they headed for Mt. Silver. This would result in the ultimate battle between two great trainers. This was one moment that would not be missed.
