Episode #76: The War On Mt. Coronet! (Part 2)

While Cyrus was trying to taunt Ketsui, the group up front suddenly heard numerous Galactic grunts screaming and getting plowed by something behind them. Manny shot through with his Probopass, knocking both Saturn and Cyrus down as he looked at the two of them. He smiled as he pointed his right thumb to himself.

"You want your hero of destiny!" Manny said. "Well here he is!"

Ketsui just sighed as Cyrus and Saturn got up to face Manny and his Probopass. Cyrus just grunted and turned his head.

"Just who do you think you are, anyway?" Cyrus asked.

"I'm Manny," he said, "the world's strongest Probopass trainer ever!"

"Is that right? Well, I suppose you would be willing to fight all of us then?"

Manny gulped nervously. He could take a foe one on one, or maybe even three on one, but never an entire organization with some possibly threatening Pokémon!

"Okay, I'm not that great," Manny said nervously, "but let's try to keep things a little fair here, huh?"

"Sorry, but we don't like to play by the rules," Saturn said. "Everyone, attack!"

The Galactic grunts attempted to send out their Pokémon, but they felt a large tremor that knocked all of them down. A purple bolt of lightning shot down on the grunts as they were all mysteriously vaporized, save for around thirty others. They were no more than dust at this point.

"Amazing," Cyrus thought. "That bolt of lightning just wiped out almost all of Team Galactic! So this is what I've created."

Cyrus smiled as he stood up.

"Watch your step, Saturn," he said. "As you may be aware, that bolt could kill all of us in an instant!"

"I understand, sir!" Saturn replied.

Cyrus took out a Poké Ball and sent out a large crow-like Pokémon with a fedora-like appendage on its head and a long, white, feathery collar that resembled a beard. It had a long black tail with red feathers on the end and wings with half of the feathers being red as well. His eyes were cold and menacing as they glared straight at Manny and Probopass.

"Honchkrow, use Dark Pulse!" Cyrus ordered.

Honchkrow launched a dark ball of energy that struck Probopass hard. Manny kept himself steady while they tried to fend off this mysterious Pokémon.

"Probopass, use Discharge!" Manny ordered, jumping off of his Pokémon.

Probopass released an electrical bolt that struck Honchkrow hard, but it was somehow able to fend it off. Manny was surprised at its strength.

"Honchkrow, use Night Slash!" Cyrus ordered.

Honchkrow released a Night Slash attack that hit Probopass, but the type difference gave Probopass an edge in this battle.

"You're not going to beat him that easily!" Manny said.

"You're right," Cyrus said with a smirk. "I'm not."

Manny was confused by his words. Honchrow cawed loudly as he prepared for another attack.

"Honchkrow, use Steel Wing on Manny!" Cyrus roared.

"Wait, isn't there some kind of rule against---" Manny said, but Before he could continue, Honchkrow slammed into Manny, knocking him down.

Honchkrow stood on top of him, ready to peck his eyes out should he make any movements. Manny lifted his head and looked at Cyrus, who smiled a nasty smile.

"You seem to underestimate me, boy," Cyrus said. "I can attack whoever I want. It doesn't matter if it's your Probopass or yourself!"

Manny growled in anger. Cyrus headed towards Ket, who continued to glare at him in anger.

"I know you've been searching for those Red Chain pieces," Cyrus said. Ket didn't reply. "We discussed this before. Now hand them over!"

Ket closed his eyes to calm himself down. He dug into his pocket and took out a chain made up of five pieces. Cyrus felt it to make sure it was real, and sure enough it was.

"You've done well for a mafia kid," Cyrus replied.

He walked over to the center, but he soon saw Rain and Donovan approaching Spear Pillar to confront him. Rain was surprised to see Manny held by a Honchkrow. He opened up his Pokédex to scan it.

"HONCHKROW: THE BIG BOSS POKÉMON; THE EVOLVED FORM OF MURKROW EXPOSED TO A DUSK STONE. IT IS ALWAYS ACTIVE AT NIGHT, HAVING SWARMS OF MURKROW IN TOW, BRINGING THEM FOOD AND HAVING THEM ATTACK UNSUSPECTING PREY. IT IDLES ITS TIME AWAY GROOMING ITSELF IN ITS NEST."

"That's nice and all, but can you get this fat bird off of me?!"

Honchkrow pecked him violently in response to his insult. Cyrus simply looked at Donovan specifically and smirked.

"Well, well," Cyrus said. "My old friend. Come to surrender yourself to Team Galactic now that you're out of business?"

"Shut up!" Donovan snapped. "Why did you betray us like this?! We looked up to you as a hero! Why throw it all away?!"

"I never had a goal to protect the peace. The role of police chief was so I could gain control of the police force while my lackeys did all the work to prepare this massive plot I've created."

"All those heroic acts to save our lives...they were only mere acts to protect your cover!"

"No one suspected me of anything. Until now."

Donovan growled in anger. He drew his hand and charged a large blast, larger than normal, about the size of a basketball.

“I won’t fool around now!” Donovan said. “This blast has enough force to take down even Mewtwo himself! Once this hits, you’re as good as dead! Want to test me?!”

Cyrus smiled as he moved his fingers around. Donovan's hand suddenly caught fire as his aura blast faded. Soon his entire body became engulfed in flames.

"Oh, some spontaneous combustion here, huh?" he mocked. "You underestimate me, Donovan. The world I've created, or rather am starting to create, has already given me my god-like powers. There's nothing you can do to stop me now!"

"Rain, do something!" Donovan shouted in pain.

"How, I don't have any Water Pokémon on me!"

The fire suddenly stopped. Donovan was in a serious amount of pain. Rain had to do something to help him.

"Sneasel, come on out!" Rain said.

Sneasel came out to help Donovan. Rain had to do something to calm his pain.

"Sneasel, use a light Blizzard to calm Donovan's burns," Rain said.

Sneasel softly shot snow at Donovan. He cringed in pain, but seemed to be feeling better. Cyrus went into the center of Spear Pillar and raised the chain up high, while Ketsui just turned his back to Cyrus.

"Red Chain of Spirit and Matter! Give me your power so I can rule this world for what it truly deserves to be!"

Rain prepared to take out Torterra in case anything went wrong.

"A world where only Pokémon exist. No humans shall exist in this world! The only humans that should exist are myself, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter! The four of us will rule this world and you will grant us this power!"

The chain began to glow, while Rain was hesitant to move a muscle. Ketsui simply smiled in response to Cyrus' actions.

"Fooled ya," Ketsui said.

The chain suddenly exploded and shot Cyrus to the ground in pain, causing the remaining Team Galactic members to go after him. His arms were half destroyed and he was cringing in massive pain.

"Cyrus!" Saturn said worried.

Saturn got a look at his wounds, and he was seriously in pain. He took him back to safety while trying to keep him safe. He glares back at Ketsui, who smiled at the two of them.

"That brat," Saturn thought. "He knew this would happen!"

Ket began to walk over to the middle where Cyrus once was and spread his arms open.

"Rain Eidoh!" Ketsui said. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time! The chance to get revenge on you!"

"Revenge for what?" Rain snapped. "Knocking you to a pulp for taking Abomasnow?!"

"The girl's Abomasnow is in my hands, and you beat me. Now, upon the orders of the devil himself, I shall strike you down!"

"Is he even aware that he caught different Abomasnow. You'd think he'd be aware by now."

Ket closed his eyes and began to focus his power. Rain didn't know what was going on, but Manny knew something was going on. He punched Honchkrow in the face and went after the injured Donovan. He took him, screaming in pain as he found somewhere to hide.

"Sorry, but we really need to get to somewhere safe!" Manny said.

They all suddenly heard a warped roar emerging from the shadows. Palkia slowly materialized behind Ketsui as he landed, shaking the ground with a powerful thud. Palkia roared normally, frightening everyone except for Rain and the others. He was a little different than before, however. Its body was slightly a darker pink and had full white eyes.

"My brother," Dialga said in Rain's head.

Rain reacted in shock to Dialga's voice.

"Dialga?!" Rain thought. "Where have you been?!"

"I'm deeply sorry for keeping you in danger like that, but I didn't know what was going on. Someone was taking your mark while you were asleep. I tried to forcefully wake you up, but it just wasn't working!"

"Darkrai?"

"That may have been the case! Anyway, there's something wrong with my brother."

Ketsui placed both of his arms down and pointed to Rain, challenging him to a battle of legendary Pokémon.

"Call out Dialga!" Ket said. "Unless you'd rather use your weak Pokémon instead!"

"What do you mean, something wrong?" Rain asked.

"He's not normal. We both planned on stopping Team Galactic together...but it's as if it wants to destroy it instead. I know my brother more than anyone else! He would never go so low as to support their plans! I know who's behind this, but I need your help. We need to join forces!"

Rain gulped nervously. He felt an immense amount of power surging through him. He screamed in pain as his shoulder shot electrical bolts, most likely due to the power surge where his mark used to be.

Meanwhile, below the mountain, Roman and Gabriella were both heading up to the mountain to see the battle between two titanic legendary Pokémon. Olympus wasn't going to lose out on the fun, though. Roman and Gabriella wanted to see the action for themselves. Roman felt a bit of pain on his right shoulder and saw Dialga's mark, the one he stole from Rain, glowing.

"How can this be?" Roman said. "I thought we rendered him powerless!"

"Maybe," Gabriella began. "Maybe Dialga had another way to keep a bond between him and Rain?"

"Could be. Question is, why is he still alive after his attempt to save that brat from Darkrai? Oh well, it's more fun for us. That kid seems to have more power than we thought. Or maybe..."

Rain screamed in pain as he called out to Dialga.

"...Dialga is far beyond anything we can comprehend!"

Dialga began to materialize in the same way as Palkia, landing with a much forceful thud. He roared fiercely and prepared to take his brother out.

"My brother is different," he said to Rain only. "His skin is darker and his eyes are pure white. I know who caused this."

"Who?" Rain thought, speaking to Dialga.

"Giratina!"

Rain's eyes widened at the thought of hearing Giratina's name once more.

"If we don't stop him, then there's no hope for this world. We must merge together if we're to stand a chance!"

"Wait, what?!"

Rain suddenly glowed a bright white as he turned into a little ball of light. He went inside of Dialga as he focused his power to make Dialga share Rain within his body. Dialga closed his eyes and opened them again, this time, letting Rain see through his eyes.

"Whoa!" Rain said, using Dialga's telepathy power.

Rain looked around at his new form and was amazed at what he saw. He was far bigger than before and towered over everyone, even Palkia himself!

"I'm in Dialga's body," Rain said. He then smiled, causing Dialga to smile as well. "Cool!"

"Is, is Dialga smiling?!" Manny said in disbelief.

"GET SERIOUS WILL YOU?!" Donovan shouted in annoyance.

"Rain, quit fooling around!" Dialga snapped. "This is a crisis!"

"Oh," Rain said. "R-Right."

Palkia used the same method and absorbed Ketsui into his body. The two merged and become one, just the same as Rain and Dialga.

"Just what is this power anyway?" Rain asked, speaking to Dialga only.

"We have been given the ability to merge with our human partners to increase our power tenfold. This way, we can protect ourselves from a crisis such as this."

"So is this why you needed me this much? So you can prevent something like this? But how did you know about this anyway."

"We had a little assistance. We found Celebi who had just happened to have been traveling around Sinnoh. The lake trio got her assistance when we found out about Team Galactic's plan. And we knew we would be powerless. We came up with many situations on how to prevent this, and this was the only one that would work.</i>"

"You know, I really underestimated you guys. You really do know how to handle a universe!"

"Well, we're just doing our jobs. Now, let's focus on beating Palkia and saving him...and your friend."

"He's not my friend, but thanks."

The two finished merging, while Ket took a look at himself. Even to him, it felt odd to be inside of a Pokémon's body.

"Well, well," Ket said through Palkia's mind. "It must be amazing...us being able to go inside of a Pokémon's body."

"Uhh....I switched places with my Turtwig," Rain said, lifting Dialga's front paw as if he was raising his hand. "Does that count?"

Palkia fired a Hyper Beam as it threw him back against the wall, destroying a part of it. Manny and Donovan were not safe where they were. They had to get out as soon as they could.

"We need to get out of here!" Manny said.

"Y-Yeah," Donovan said, a little weak from the pain, despite the outburst earlier. "Let them battle, they'll be fine!"

Manny and Donovan snuck away while Dialga got up from the forceful attack. Rain and Dialga could not afford to lose this battle, no matter how hard it would get. Ket wasn't going to back down at all, even if it costed him his life. Roman finally arrived as he watched from the shadows of the cave entrance. He smiled as he saw both Dialga and Palkia battling each other.

"Well, this should be fun," Roman said.
